Rain

SEASONAL UPDATE – FEBRUARY 2026

With seasonal conditions varying across Queensland, Top Country have a range of drylick, pasture rations and full grain options to support your livestock regardless of your current conditions.

HAD GOOD RAIN?

For those lucky enough to receive some rain, you’ll already be seeing fresh green pick coming through. With that early growth, phosphorus quickly becomes the most limiting nutrient in your pastures.

Our high phosphorus supplements have been designed especially for this situation.

TOP CROP is an ideal introductory  dry lick, formulated with a higher protein meal content and full fat soy to improve palatability for cattle grazing sweet green feed. Top Crop contains 6% phosphorus and 12% calcium, making it well suited to support lactating breeders, backgrounders, and animals over 300kg live weight.

(Available with or without Urea)

TOP WET is a dry lick supplement with 9% phosphorus and 12% calcium, formulated to support cattle through periods of high phosphorus demand.

(Available with or without Urea)

MISSED OUT ON THE RAIN?

For those still waiting on rain, pasture will be dry with lower protein and digestibility.

Introducing a supplement with high protein, urea and slow breakdown meal and adequate phosphorus can help support rumen function and increase dry matter intake to hold condition.

You've got options - Drylick or Pasture Rations

  • Drylick

Designed for cattle grazing on dry pasture where protein is limiting, the Top Country drylicks are high in slow breakdown protein meals.

All Top Country drylicks are fully customised for our customers. The most popular customisations are for phosphorus, monensin, urea and salt.

FOCUS ON UREA

Top Intro - 2.5% Urea

Top Start - 5% Urea

Top Season - 10% Urea

Top Link - 15% Urea

FOCUS ON PHOSPHORUS

Research has proven protein combined with adequate levels of phosphorus generates a much better response to animal feed.

The vast majority of cattle country is phosphorus deficient.

Top Country has a range of extra phosphorus products designed specifically for country required added phosphorus.

XP Range - Extra Phosphorus range.

Top Fos - Formulated for higher nutritional demand situations and particularly designed for breeders.

  • Pasture Rations

Where feed is available and higher performance is required, pasture rations can complement standing grass and improve energy and protein intake.

Top Background - Top Background is designed for cattle grazing green standing feed or forage crops. High grain and high palatability encourage consistent intake. Designed to slow rumen passage and improve pasture intake. With potential increased weight gains of 0.8 – 0.9kg/head/day.

Top Grower - Top Grower is suited to cattle grazing drier pasture that requires moderate energy supplementation. It contains a moderate grain inclusion to balance energy supply. With potential increased weight gains of 0.6 – 0.8kg/head/day.

These pasture rations are formulated to complement available forage while sustaining growth performance throughout the season.

  • Weaning in Dry Conditions

Early Weaning can be an effective management tool during dry periods.

Strategic early weaning supports breeder condition, improves re-breeding rates, and sets weaners up for strong growth.

Our range of high-quality, highly digestible rations is designed to meet the nutritional needs of young stock at different stages of weaning.

Top Creep Wean 50 - Designed for creep feeding and early weaned calves, this ration supports rumen development and encourages strong early growth. Low in fibre but high in energy, it maximises growth from a smaller intake. Contains Monensin to help control coccidiosis and acidosis.

Top Early Wean 100 - Ideal for newly weaned calves, providing a balanced mix of protein and energy. Slightly lower in fibre, so best fed with hay or roughage. Supports steady growth and rumen adaptation, with Monensin to reduce the risk of coccidiosis and acidosis.

Top Wean 200 - Formulated for larger weaners, supporting efficient growth and compensatory weight gain. Maintains a high plane of nutrition with slightly higher fibre to suit heavier stock. Contains Monensin to help prevent coccidiosis and acidosis.

Whether you are after increased weight gain or simply looking to maintain your livestock until rain arrives, Top Country has the range to suit and a team of Nutritionists who can help.
