Top Country has sold

The new (above) team consists of (R to L) Animal nutritionists, Nick Loughnan, Aleacea Nixon, new owners, Cam and Sharon Colley and the mill team, Keagan Roos, Michael Camacho and Adrian Uson. (Aren't we cute!?)
Here's a message from the new owners:
"Hi everyone, we want to introduce ourselves and reassure you that trading will continue as normal at Top Country.
Internally, we are adjusting the existing business model and are planning systems to improve efficient manufacturing and effective maintenance. There are no changes planned for any existing grain rations or dry lick.
We're very proud of the team members we have accrued as part of the purchase process. They are a passionate, hard working mob and we are looking forward to working with them into the future.
The value of Top Country full-time animal nutritionists to us as owners and you and your cattle cannot be underestimated.
With that in mind, we asked Nick and Aleacea to provide a few notes that will be relevant to you right now.

Nick Loughnan

Phosphorus is crucial at this point in the year when the feed is still green. It is the most limited nutrient for production in the wet months so if we can get bone phosphorus reserves filled before the first frost of the year, this will take a lot of pressure off cows also requiring extra protein at that time.

Phosphorus deficient stock are more likely to overconsume a high protein dry lick if left too late in the season, which can be a significant risk with urea in dry season licks.

My advice would be to start early and continuously monitor manure coming into the dry season.

Aleacea Nixon

Weaning is just around the corner for many of us, so there are a few things to keep in mind.

It can be a very stressful time for young animals, so keeping them on an increasing plane of nutrition can help to transition them through this period.

Young stock require high protein and energy to continue growing muscle and bone. Out full feed grain rations and paddock-fed production rations contain the right levels of protein, energy and minerals that help young animals to grow quickly and ensure they can reach their genetic potential in the future.

We can't wait to start taking your orders and delivering top quality products that have a strong reputation built over 30 years by Stephen and Natalie Aisthorpe.
Kind regards
Cam and Sharon Colley
